Who is responsible for the note?
The treating doctor. FocusMD produces a draft and it is never filed until that doctor reviews and approves it. Approved notes are locked read-only. FocusMD is a documentation assistant, not a substitute for clinical judgement.
How accurate are the ICD-10 and MBS codes?
Coding is suggested from the consultation content and current MBS schedule fees, and is presented inside the note for your review alongside the assessment. Final coding responsibility stays with the clinician, as with any coding support tool.
Does it integrate with my practice software?
Today you approve the note in FocusMD and copy it into your practice system — one click, no retyping. Direct integrations are on the roadmap; tell us what you use and we will prioritise it.
What about patient consent for recording?
Consent is captured explicitly before every session starts — the doctor confirms it in the app with the patient. Consent status is stored with the consultation record.
How long is the audio kept?
The transcript is retained for a configurable period (default 90 days) and then automatically purged. Audio itself is processed and not retained. Approved notes remain until you delete them.
How do doctors get accounts?
Clinic admins invite doctors by email; doctors set their own password through the invitation link. There is no public sign-up — access is always clinic-controlled.
